"Thank God I was hit by a car at 75mph and nearly killed!"

My name is Dr. Marc Ferrin. This is my story of how I was nearly killed and came back to life. On November 28, 2022, I was driving to my clinic when a car traveling 75mph hit me squarely on the driver’s side. I was rushed to the University of Missouri Hospitals, where they promptly brought me in for surgeries. The first surgery was to bring my stomach down from my upper chest cavity into my abdomen and repair the 3 1/2-inch tear in my diaphragm, while attempting to prompt my left lung to breathe again. The doctors were forced to completely remove my spleen, as it was too damaged for repair.

Let me tell you my story.
It was nineteen years ago when I was a varsity wrestler for the University of Minnesota, but I developed a painful condition that caused numbing and tingling in my left arm and hand knows as carpal tunnel syndrome. In my case, it came suddenly. The pain in my hands was so intense that I could not clench my fist, or even button my shirt, let alone compete as an athlete. I was afraid that I’d lose my scholarship if the disability continued. The orthopedic surgeon for the Minnesota Vikings said that surgery was all he could do for me. So, they performed surgery and after many months of rehabilitation I tried to return to competition but just couldn’t. Years later the same symptoms began to occur in my right hand and arm. A friend of mine convinced me to give a chiropractor a try. The Chiropractor did an exam, took some films, and then adjusted my spine. The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. I got relief and I could use my hand again. It worked so well that now I’m a chiropractor.
